Doug Landis was injured in a wrestling accident in 1975 when he was just in his teens.  Paralyzed from the neck down, his depression seemed insurmountable at times.

But a dare to outdraw his brother, Monte, catapulted Doug out of depression and into a life of purpose. He now holds a pen or pencil in his mouth and creates work with uniqueness and style known for its intricacy. Doug’s wildlife art is internationally known.

“I found a talent in myself that leads me to believe that everybody has talents,” Doug says.  “Everybody can find something in themselves.”

The outpouring of support for Doug after his accident was so great that it led to the beginning of Missouri K.I.D.S.  “It has grown into a phenomenal organization that helps people in many ways — with computers, vans, education and other necessities,” Doug says. “I am proud to be associated with Missouri K.I.D.S.”
