Derek was a swimmer at Truman State University for four years. He was a Captain his Senior year. He had just graduated from college the month before his accident. While enjoying time with friends at a lake, he dove in and hit his head on a rock. Derek goes to therapy to get stronger. He plans to attend graduate school in the future.
