Meet Kiland
Kiland is from St. Louis, Missouri and attended Parkway North High School where he played tennis. Kiland became a MO KID after a diving accident. The accident injured his C6 and C7 vertebrae causing a paraplegic spinal cord injury.
Missouri KIDS has helped Kiland by providing a ramp for his home, a wheelchair accessible van, and by paying for therapy sessions and driving lessons.
Kiland is attending college working on his associate’s degree. He is also working at Paraquad as a Peer Service Specialist. He hasn’t let his injury keep him from playing the sports he loves, as he still plays tennis and rugby. He has even competed in the US OPEN USTA Wheelchair Championships. Kiland also is coaching tennis.
Kiland is just one of the many inspiring stories of adversity we see with every athlete supported by Missouri KIDS. Through financial support from members of the community, just like you, we can continue to help more athletes and their families in the same way. We appreciate any financial support you can provide.
